Your Mission this Easter Sunday Evening is a Treasure Hunt along your Kidney and Lung Meridians.
Some of the treasures we may encounter (recover really) are:
+ Restoring balance to the Kidney meridian gives an overall energy boost. It also improves circulation of the blood, reduces habitual fear and anxiety, slows down aging processes.
+ Restoring balance to the Lung meridian allows us to “harvest” more energy from the air, from breathing, reduces and eliminates grief and sadness we may be dealing with – basically helps us let go of the things we do not need anymore or do not serve us anymore. Balance in the Lungs brings balance to the Heart too which increases the Joy in our everyday lives.
Same old “lazy yoga” style of practice. But with a little more focus on two of the main energy pathways in your body. Very relevant for the transition of the seasons and the dominant energies all around us at the moment.
So, your mission – should you choose to accept it – is to restore your core vitality, feel younger and clear the pathways for more joy in your life … the usual 😉
For those of you who many not know, Vedic Thai-Yoga Massage is an ancient healing art that has its roots in India, Thailand, and Tibet.
A session involves rhythmic compressions along meridian lines, passive assisted stretching, conscious breathing, meditation, reflexology, and other beautiful techniques that incorporate the use of hands, feet, elbows, knees, and forearms, to efficiently manage the energy of the person giving a session.
A session’s objective is to remedy “stress” built up in the body and mind, re-enlivening energy pathways, releasing blockages, allowing prana / chi to flow freely.
Vedic Thai Yoga massage leaves both the receiver AND the giver feeling refreshed, revitalized and IN-SPIRED (in-spirit.) You will feel completely rejuvenated yet relaxed. Re-energised and yet completely grounded.
This evening session includes:
+ Connection / Grounding of both body and mind
+ Introduction to the main Marma/Accupressure points along the Kidney and Lung meridians
+ 2 x 50min bodywork (exchanging with another person)
+ Yoga Nidra type of guided relaxation
Note: Duration has increased by 30 mins as it is proving the exchanged sessions need to be longer.

According to the Irish Osteoporosis Society of Ireland, at present it is estimated that 300,000 people in Ireland have Osteoporosis. One in 4 men and 1 in 2 women over 50 will develop a fracture due to Osteoporosis in their lifetime.
The disease can affect even children.
The word osteoporosis literally means “porous bones.
Bone is a living tissue that is constantly being removed and replaced naturally by the body. In order to do this bones need normal sex hormones, calcium, vitamin D, adequate calories, proteins and weight bearing / strengthening exercise to keep them healthy.
If you have one low trauma fracture, this doubles your risk of another fracture due to Osteoporosis. So in this case, prevention is definitely better than cure in this respect.
As we get older, more bone is naturally lost than is replaced, but people with Osteoporosis lose more bone than people who do not have the disease. This causes bones to become fragile and therefore they break easily e.g. through a minor bump or fall and it is common knowledge that the first thing we will do if we are about to fall is to extend out our arm to protect ourselves. This is where yoga will benefit you.
• Can yoga help prevent osteoporosis?
Yes, it can. In addition to providing stress reduction and a mild workout, yoga can also be an effective treatment for osteoporosis, either on its own or supplemented by other treatments.
Research has shown that yoga can prevent or slow and in some cases even reverse the process of bone loss. A recent study found that practicing yoga for as little as eight to ten minutes daily can increase your bone density.
• Our Workshop
Our workshop will commence at 10am on Saturday morning the 4th May, 2019 Registration will be at 9.30am this will allow ample time to set you up and get comfortable in the studio before we commence.
The cost for the workshop is €40.00.
The morning of yoga will conclude at 12.30pm and will be followed by light refreshments.
• What to expect
Our morning of yoga will consist of learning methods to help you destress and relax helping to calm and soothe the body. You will be given a yoga work out suitable for Osteoporosis sufferers. You will receive a handout with the poses clearly printed so that you can easily develop a self-practice at home.
This morning is open to anyone who has an interest in learning natural ways to combat this silent disease.
Please note, however, that if you do have osteoporosis I would advise you to seek your doctor’s permission before practicing yoga or coming to this workshop.
It is also important that you advise me in advance of any specific advice or recommendations that your doctor may give you in relation to specific movements to avoid.
During our practice we will do gentle back bends because osteoporosis is so often accompanied by thoracic kyphosis, gentle backbends move the thoracic spine in and lift the chest, improving thoracic spine extension.
As I will be providing a booklet for you to carry home, it is important that you book your place in this workshop. To book your place contact me directly on 086 – 7847998.
