I am loving how this piece is turning out. One bonus of being in lockdown - plenty of time reconnecting with my hooks and needles. I actually don't know if I could have gotten through lockdown without crochet or knitting and that's being honest. I have loved trying new things, letting my creative side free and learning from mistakes, missing stitches, uneven sides 🤣 it's been great fun. The end of lockdown appears to be in sight, it looks like we may actually make it back into the studio towards the end of May. Fingers and toes crossed that this will happen. It has been lovely to look back and see how much wool has reframed my life over the course of the past 13 months. It has been interesting to observe how a simple ball of wool and endless possibilities for that yarn has helped me navigate covid lockdowns. If you haven't tried it definitely give it a go, it's a great way to pass the time, rewarding, satisfying and grounding and you can take it anywhere. It also has the added benefit of being meditative, quietens the mind, brings focus, a sense of accomplishment and self achievement. Hope we will get to meet up on our mats real soon. Right now it is a silent white canvas softly floating down. Peaceful, gentle, graceful, pure. ❄ The child in me hoping it will last till morning, especially after all the rain we have just had..... Snow always reminds me to be in the moment, to appreciate the beauty of what surrounds me right now. A single snowflake has its own unique beauty held in a complex structure which depending on circumstances may last a moment or longer. This mornings sky and this evenings one. 💜
Both reflect stillness to me and quiet. Both equally beautiful. I have found myself for the first time in a long long time enjoying hibernation. 🙃 No rushing, no racing, no place to be, no having to do anything, no clock. Just gentle housework, baking, arts and crafts. I have definitely created my own little bubble, spending less time on social media, more time connecting with friends. Long casual phonecalls instead of hurried quick texts. It has been interesting to observe over the last few weeks the highs and lows of my mind. Some days brought up emotions especially over Christmas. Some days I found myself not knowing what to do with myself and those were the days I needed meditation most. Most days however, I have found a gentle way of being. The days flow, I see nature more, I sit and watch the beautiful birds which visit our garden. I am present more and I seem to appreciate even more than ever before, especially connection to others. Interesting in this slowing down, it feels like a part of me which has been dormant for a long long time is actually coming alive, stirring once more, stretching and opening up. I hope you guys are able to find the #stillness and #peace within yourselves also. Turn off the telly, make a cuppa tea, sit and just listen to the sounds of #nature all around you. Call a friend instead of texting, call me! have a chat, connect. Stay #grounded. Stay safe and stay well. Our world is still very beautiful in most parts 💜🙏
